Fantastic Classes At The Nevada County Master Gardeners
This weekend I went to a class given by University of California’s Master Gardeners of Nevada County located in Grass Valley. Auburn is only a short 20 minute drive to Grass Valley and I am so lucky to live in an area that is in touch with living off the land and organic gardening.
The class I took was “Growing in a Greenhouse. The agony and the Ecstasy” During the cooler months the master gardeners put the classes on at the Grass Valley Elks Lodge. In the warmer months we get to meet outside at the beautiful sample garden next to NID (Nevada Irrigation District) office. All the classes are FREE and go from 10-12p.m almost every Saturday throughout the year. Check out the link to the Master Gardeners Class Schedule Below is a fabulous gardening book they publish which is specific to Sierra Foothill gardening and has become my bible for gardening!
I am not kidding when I say that I have taken over 20 classes through this wonderful organization. Everyone is so helpful and the classes have helped really shape the way I garden. Whether you are into flowers, fruit or vegetables there is a class for you. Placer County also has a classes schedule as well and I’ve taken a couple classes through them.
