If you look around our little town of Auburn it is growing again with new commercial construction happening on Hwy. 49. Some people are in favor of the growth, while others would rather enjoy a small town atmosphere a little longer. Regardless of how you or I feel, it is happening and I’m ready to embrace it! So here is what I know to be true so far regarding the stores and restaurants slated to go in on Hwy. 49 in the NEW Smart & Final center and also across the street near Rite Aid.
Smart & Final center:
Dickey’s BBQ
Panda Express
Chick Fil A
Pet Smart
And a surprise Mexican restaurant
Near Rite Aid:
Panera Bread
Chipotle
FYI: Our center where the Lyon Real Estate office is located (and also where Best Buy is located) I hear wants around $300 per square foot for rent space whereas the new construction shopping centers are about half that amount. I say this because I was wondering why we have new construction but yet we are having a hard time filling the spaces in our own center. Our center got a new brewery called Final Gravity just this last month but other than that it has been slim pickins’ for what seems like years. Well that price per square foot may be the concern.
