The Scoop on Auburn
Auburn is the heart of the gold country. Boasting the oldest gold mining town in California. It's historical homes, festivals, county fair, and Christmas parade is straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. It is also the Endurance Capital of the World hosting the Tevis Cup and Western States Endurance Run. The American River also flows through Auburn which gives people the chance to swim, kayak, fish and river raft. The Auburn State Recreation Area is miles and miles of hiking, mountain biking, off-road driving and horseback riding. Higher elevation allows for less fog and cooler temperatures. Snow is rare in winter but on the chance you get a dusting of snow it will only last for a short time. Many people will still find the 30 minutes commute to Sacramento tolerable. Terrain is rolling hills with scattered oaks. Auburn, Meadow Vista and Christian Valley have mostly horse type properties. Although they are seeing more tract home developments over the years. You'll also find some fine estate homes such as Auburn Country Club, The Outlook, Granite Bay Vista,Vineyard Estates, Shadow Rock, Saddleback, Winchester Country Club and several others.
